Summer 2018 Program Coaches

Mark Rotondi

Mark Rotondi joins the Shen Crew coaching staff for the Summer of 2018.  Mark holds a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Marist College and is pursing his Masters in Science in Exercise Physiology at Ithaca College. Mark is a board certified Athletic trainer and NYS certified EMT.

Mark's collegiate career was sadly shorter than planned, only the 2014-2015 season at Marist. Due to a heavy clinical requirements in pursuit of becoming an athletic trainer he was forced to focus strictly on the school end of things.  He began coaching over the summers at HRRA, and rejoined the Marist Rowing program in the spring of 2018 as a volunteer assistant coach where he combined his rowing experience with his sports medicine background.

Mark's rowing career began at Niskayuna HS where he was a team captain and year-round athlete in both sculling and sweep rowing.  As a outstanding youth oarsman he was a member of the 2013 US Rowing Jr. National Development team at Steel City Rowing Club.

Mark is looking forward to working with the SHEN rowing program and hopes to continue sharing his passion for the sport.

Michael Campone

Michael comes back to us as a 2018 Summer Season coach after his first successful season at the University of Delaware as a member of their lightweight team. During his Freshman campaign he won the ACRA’s championship in the Frosh 8.

Michael started rowing at Shen Crew in 6th grade and continued on until his senior year when he graduated in 2017. During his career at Shen he placed 1st at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, 1st at SRAA Nationals, and 3rd at Youth Nationals in the Varsity 2x.

He loved his high school team and is happy to come back as a coach for the summer.
